Isekai anime fans, a new and interesting anime is set to be released. The anime is titled Reborn as a Space Mercenary I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship. Reborn as a Space Mercenary Anime Overview
This series follows Takahiro Sato, an ordinary office worker who has grown utterly fed up with the exhausting grind of his daily life. One day, after returning home from work, having a meal, playing some video games, and taking a bath, he heads off to bed only to suddenly find himself transported into the world of a sci-fi video game he absolutely loves. There, he discovers himself seated in the cockpit of a fully equipped, state-of-the-art starship.

And so, our Hiro sets out to forge a new life within the vast expanse of the cosmos a journey filled with romance, trade, saving lives, earning riches, and vanquishing foes. To accomplish all of this, he relies entirely on his extensive knowledge of the game world.
Manga and Light Novel Popularity
As of February 2025, the series including both the light novels and the manga has sold approximately 1.3 million copies. It is a highly popular title within the Isekai genre. To date, 11 volumes of the manga and 16 volumes of the light novel have been released. The manga adaptation of Reborn as a Space Mercenary I Woke Up Piloting The Strongest Starship is still ongoing and has not yet reached its conclusion the 11th volume is currently active as of March 2026. Additionally, the English edition published by Seven Seas Entertainment is set to release its 10th volume soon. The original light novel series is also still ongoing, with the 17th volume scheduled for release in Japan around May 2026.

The anime is being produced by Studio A-CAT. Studio A-CAT is renowned for its specialization in 3D CG animation and mecha elements a style that fits perfectly with a spaceship-themed anime such as this. Therefore, we can likely look forward to seeing excellent utilization of 3D and CG animation in Reborn as a Space Mercenary Anime. Studio A-CAT has previously produced two well-known anime titles They have animated a series titled She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man, and another called The Beginning After the End. As for the latter, Season 2 is scheduled to arrive in April 2026, with its premiere set to take place on Crunchyroll; incidentally, this is an anime that I personally enjoy as well.
