However, Yuru's peaceful life is shattered when a Modern army attacks his village, killing almost everyone in it. While the Modern army destroys the village, their sole objective is to capture Yuru. Amidst the chaos, Yuru discovers that his sister has been killed; yet, a one eyed girl stands before him, claiming she is his real sister. Shocked and bewildered by this revelation, Yuru caught between truth and deception unlocks a secret power. With this ability, he can summon two "village guardians"Left and Right" who are extremely powerful demons that Yuru alone can control. Yuru was helped to awaken this power by a traveling merchant named Dera.
